She danced for a competitive dance company in northwest Indiana for several years. She also enjoyed cheerleading throughout middle school and high school where she was named a UCA All Star Cheerleader. After high school, she went on to study dance, acting and voice at Indiana University, Lou Conte Dance Studio in Chicago (once home to Hubbard Street Dance Company), Act One Studios in Chicago and Spotlight Dance in Orlando. She loves to explore new types of dance and is so excited to be sharing her love for dance with her students. When she’s not dancing, Heather loves to snowboard, snowmobile and dirt bike with her husband and two young children.

Bei Lawrence
My name is Bei Lawrence, I am a freshman at SSHS and I have been taking ballet and other styles of dance classes since I was three years old. I love skiing, singing, acting, and of course, dancing. I am on the high school dance team, I studied at Dance for the last seven years and this is my first year dancing at Bella. I am familiar with all styles of dance. I was a company dancer for two years and I have had several roles in the Nutcracker. I am so excited to continue my dance career and explore new opportunities.

Jocelyn Gugel
My name is Jocelyn Gugel and I have been dancing for 13 years. Ballet has been my main focus these past few years but I have always loved the meaning connected to any kind of dance. My main goal is for kids to be comfortable with who they are and be able to grow as dancers and as people.

Nicolette Boeri
Hi I’m Nicolette. I teach here at Bella Movement. I’ve been dancing for eleven years since I was three. I love dancing because it allows you to express yourself in so many different ways. In the past I have been an assistant dance teacher so I know the job well. As of right now, I am a member of the highschool dance team and I hope to continue with dance after highschool as well. I’m so excited to have this opportunity to teach your children.

Alexa Struss
Alexa recently moved to beautiful Steamboat Springs from Lafayette, Indiana, and is ready to share her deep-rooted passion for dance with her new home! She has been a competitive dancer since the age of 5 and is experienced in many genres, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, modern, lyrical, musical theater, and pom. Her high school years were spent training and competing with the pre-professional company at Expressenz Dance Center. She was cast in the Nutcracker all four years, where she performed the Lead Angel and Lead Spanish role while partnering with Butler University’s professional male leads. In college, Alexa was a member of the Purdue University dance team. She competed through the National Dance Alliance (NDA) and trained in contemporary, jazz, pom, and hip hop while performing at Big 10 football games and men’s basketball games.
While dancing is Alexa’s favorite pastime, teaching has also become an essential part of her life. For five years, she was an instructor and competition team coach at Studio b in Lafayette. As a result, she has won several 1st overall placements and special awards for her group and solo choreography. In Alexa’s last two years living in Lafayette, she was the head coach and director of Harrison High School’s advanced dance team program that competed through the state competition, IHSDTA.
With only being here a few months, Alexa has jumped right into Steamboat’s growing adult dance community! She is a member of Steamboat Dance Theater and takes classes with Steamboat Dance + Fitness’s very own Forty 106 Dance Project.
